I was in “vintage heaven” and it was love at first sight when we visited Ester’s Table one cold and chilly Sydney morning. Ester’s Table is set in the back streets of the charming suburb of Annandale. Out the front sits bright pastel chairs and tables complete with beautiful handmade crochet granny squares blankets, just the thing to keep you toasty warm on a winter’s morning.
The staff at Ester’s were very welcoming and we quickly took a seat right next to the sweet mini chairs and table for the kids. This dedicated area for the kids came complete with toys, books, blackboard, pencils and paper. Mr 2 took great delight in tinkering around with the odds and ends while we ordered our food.
The breakfast menu at Ester’s offered a variety of fresh pastries, seasonal fruit platters, French toast, omelettes and more. The kiddie breakfast included Boiled egg soldiers, vegemite and cheese toast and a ham and cheese foldover. To wash all that down Ester’s Table also offer mini fruit frappes, smoothies and milkshakes for the kid’s starting from $3.50. If you have a sweet tooth with a keen eye in your camp, Ester’s Table also have jars of brightly coloured biscuits for the kids. Why not wash down a smartie biscuit with a babycino, which can all be served at the mini table.
The fit-out in Ester’s is just delightful and there is a real European influence throughout. Soft French music was playing in the café and the chai tea truly hit the spot.
The other child friendly features at Ester’s Table are highchairs for hungry little ones and a change table for those dirty bottoms. Pram access is limited inside but is perfect outside, any excuse to snuggle in those amazing crochet blankets l say!
For a stylish breakfast or brunch l would highly recommend visiting Ester’s Table, try the homemade granola, it was divine and the little bubba enjoyed snacking on the fresh fruit it came served with. It’s a must visit in my book.
